Heidi Samec, 52, is a farmer and a realtor in Bronson, Fl. One is a job – the other a passion. A former alcoholic and drug addict, Samec never thought she would own a farm until pigs flew. Now, she owns Flying Pig Ranch where she lives organically and raises livestock.
After Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti, I flew to Haiti to do two things: help local nonprofit Health Education Project distribute water purification bottles + sanitation kits to families in southern Haiti and to photograph the faces of those recovering from the natural disaster that took more than 900 lives, according to local governments.
