Over the last 2 years, I ventured into film photography and am discovering more and more every time I take my camera out and shoot. 

After Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti, I flew to Haiti with a colleague to do two things: help local nonprofit Health Education Project distribute water purification bottles and sanitation kits to families in southern Haiti + to photograph the faces of those recovering from the natural disaster that took more than 900 lives, according to local governments.

Heidi Samec, 52, is a farmer and a realtor in Bronson, Fl. One is a job – the other a passion. As someone who once battled with alcoholism and addiction, Samec never thought she would own a farm until pigs flew. Now, she owns Flying Pig Ranch where she lives organically and raises livestock.
